I am a cookbook junkie. I grew up watching my mom read cookbooks like they were novels. She still loves reading them today. I don't remember her ever trying out a recipe. She would tell me that it was enough just looking at the pictures. She didn't love cooking enough to want to try anything out. I on the other hand love trying new recipes. I make an effort to try out a new recipe from each cookbook but I find that sometimes I use some cookbooks more than others.
I am also addicted to Pinterest because I love pinning new recipes. Last week I tried three recipes that I had pinned. I am now directing my husband to the site to have him pick out a recipe he wants me to try for his birthday meal. They all look so delicious.
For the longest time I lost interest in blogging. I then began reading all of these great blogs from women who loved to cook on a budget. I started pinning their recipes and trying some out. Some I liked and some I just took the idea and modified it to my own taste.
My husband suggested I start writing them down again so that we can track what we like and don't like. I thought it was a good idea and so here I am. As Thanksgiving approaches this weekend I will be trying out new recipes for everything. I don't have the energy or freezer space to cook a turkey so I will be making chicken instead with some great deserts I have pinned. My goal is to review each recipe and let anyone who reads the blog know how they turned out.
Happy Cooking!
